August 25, 2012: We held our 2nd Horsehoe Pitching Tournament and Party to pitch in for the Vets to benefit H.A.V.E.
August 8, 2012: Work Party at the Veterans Organic Peace Garden.
May 26, 2012: We held our 2nd Memorial Day Party and silient auction to benefit H.A.V.E.
May 6, 2012: Build more raised beds and plant starts of vegetables in the Veterans Organic Peace Garden.
April 19, 2012: The Red Cross of Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino Counties awarded Lee P. Gooding, III, Executive Director of H.A.V.E., its Real Hero Award. It was awarded to ordinary people of extraordinary compassion at the Red Cross annual Real Heroes Breakfast. The Red Cross Website press release states he received the Real Hero for Military related service: Lee Gooding, Executive Director of Helping American Veterans Endure (HAVE), works with veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder and depression. A Vietnam veteran, Gooding has created programs to help vets alleviate stress and live healthier. HAVE workshops include such activities as writing, humor, art classes and even pet therapy. November 11, 2011: First Veterans Day Benefit Dance for H.A.V.E. is held at the Jenner Inn in Jenner, CA on the Sonoma coast.
October 2011: H.A.V.E. offers its first workshops in Santa Rosa, CA in Creative Writing and Humor. H.A.V.E. offers its first workshops in Penngrove, CA in Painting and Guitar.
August 27, 2011: We held our first Horsehoe Pitching Tournament and Party to pitch in for the Vets to benefit H.A.V.E.
July 19, 2011: Starting building the first raised beds for the Veterans Organic Peace Garden located at 3839 Brickway Blvd., directly in front of the Santa Rosa VA Outpatient Clinic, near the Sonoma County Airport in California.
July 15, 2011: Trenched and laid irrigation pipes at the Veterans Organic Peace Garden.
June 4, 2011: Formed first Board of Directors with Carolyn Crimmins, Ph.D., Lee P. Gooding III, Stephen D. Shore, DC, and Kenneth E. Norton. Lee Gooding was elected President of the Board and Executive Director.
May 28, 2011: We held our 1st Memorial Day Party to benefit H.A.V.E.
March 2011: H.A.V.E. offers its first workshops in Creative Writing and Humor in Petaluma, CA.
September 26, 2010: H.A.V.E. had a booth at the Petaluman Progressive Festival with Lee Gooding offering massages.
June 19, 2009: First Event as a Benefit for H.A.V.E. at the San Francisco VA Medical Center at Fort Miley, where we served 60 veterans an organic lunch and provided live music. Louis-Virie Blanche and his band Constant Creation performed and the food was donated by Don Smith, owner of the French Garden Restaurant, in Sebastopol.
June 2009: Steering committee formed with Lee P. Gooding III as Executive Director, Louis-Virie Blanche - Executive Event Coordinator, and Amor Luz Pangilinan, Executive Director of Public / Media Relations.
April 2009: Lee P. Gooding, III and Marty Koellhoffer, buddies from their Army days in the 1960s who both were helped in VA Clinics and Hospitals, found Helping American Vets Endure.
